I wrote "Child's Prayer" after working on a documentary about a young girl who lost her mother and her leg during an airstrike. Her grandmother comforted her by telling her that she'll find her mother when she finds the brightest star in the sky, so each night this little girl looks up at the stars and speaks with her mother.

I wrote this song to honor all refugee children, especially those who have lost a parent or who have suffered life-altering injuries due to such horrible events, events that seem to happen all too often around the world today.

No child's heart should beat in fear and no child's eyes should ever see the horrors of war.
